TKS Finance, TKS Securities and Asian Finance trio sponsored North Western Blacks through some dazzling and pulsating rugby emerged joint-champions with Jaffna Challengers at the recently concluded Carlton Sevens Rugby Tournament. Playing with gusto and precision, sizing opportunities at every possible occasion, the North Western Blacks played some vintage sevens rugby that had the crowd roaring on their feet at the first stage in Kandy, as well as in the second leg in Colombo.
Led by that sevens specialist Chanaka Chandimal, North Western Blacks were superbly powered by New Zealand speedsters Shane Christy Warwick Frank Halai and Joe Webber. In combination with the rest of the team they mesmerised the rugby enthusiasts in ample measure.
TKS Finance CEO Rasika Kaluarachchi said that with its inherent corporate culture of innovativeness, speedy service and focus, they were quick to recognise the similarities present in sevens rugby at its best, and the fact that North Western Blacks emerged joint-champions, though desired from the beginning, was a real bonus, over and above their fundamental motive of supporting Sri Lankan youth to excel and realise their potential in the sports arena.
