Founded in 1997 as an advocacy group, the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association currently consists of over 140 member companies.
Committed to the development of the country’s processed food and beverage industry, the Association consists of members from all relevant sub sectors addressing such issues as national policy, intra regional corporation, technology, knowledge transfer and marketing. The Group offers leadership to a small but vibrant National Processed Food Industry. Vital to the island nation’s agro based economy the sector directly employs over three hundred thousand persons while supporting over four million back stream producers.
The SLFPA consists of all sizes of industry, including multinational, large, medium, small and micro scale industries. The member industries consist of food ingredients, grocery products, confectionery and bakery products, frozen foods, fruit and vegetable based products and beverages.
The organizing committee of the SLFPA Cricket Tournament is organizing the annual six-a side softball cricket match for the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association Challenge Trophy, which is scheduled to take place on the 14th of May 2016.
The match will be played on league basis and the winning teams will advance to the play offs. Trophies for the best team; Man of the Series, Woman of the Series & Best Decorated Tent awaits the participating teams.
The event is organized for the Food & Beverage and related industries and for members of the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association so that staffs of all organizations can come together to network & socialize.
All participants, supporters, well wishers and onlookers could expect a day filled with lots of fun.
The entire Food Processing fraternity looks forward in making this Cricket Tournament the most popular outdoor event. It is definitely going to be a wonderful day.
