A botched shot from Tiger Woods at the Ryder Cup has produced quite a memorable photo.
Woods was playing his final hole of the day Sunday at Celtic Manor Golf Club in Wales when he attempted to chip onto the green. Instead, the ball careened directly into the lens of London Daily Mail photographer Mark Pain.
The impact destroyed the lens of Pain’s camera, but the image was preserved.
The Daily Mail reported that “Woods was furious about his blunder, (but) neither he nor caddie Steve Williams objected to Pain’s position.”
Woods and teammate Steve Stricker won the match in which this shot was taken, but the U.S. team lost the Ryder Cup overall in gut-wrenching fashion,14.5-13.5.
