Chennai (ANI): Indian captain MS Dhoni emphasized that his team won’t take a struggling Australian team lightly in the upcoming four-Test series Down Under.
Addressing a press conference along with coach Duncan Fletcher before leaving the country in Chennai, Dhoni said that the Australian team will have the home advantage, and insisted that his team must concentrate on working on their strength and weaknesses.
“Even when we were there last time, we had a very good chance and we performed well. So, it’s not about that if the opposition is not doing well, we have the best chance. We have to play to the kind of talent that we have got, worry about things that we have to worry about and work on our strength as well as weaknesses,” Dhoni said.
“We are more concerned about where we need to work on, we are not too much worried about what kind of opposition we are playing,” he added.
Dhoni also said that Team India has enough time to prepare for the first Test, which starts in Melbourne on December 26.
“It’s looking good as of now and hopefully we won’t have too many injuries before the start of the Test series,” he added.he remaining Tests will be played in Sydney, Perth and Adelaide.
The Tests will be followed by two Twenty20 internationals, before Sri Lanka join in for a one-day tri-series from February 5.
