The Royal Colombo Golf club continues the most worthwhile charity golf tournament which has become an annual feature in the Royal Colombo Golfing Calendar, when the tournament gets underway on 13 September, under the able stewardship of Michael P. Magala, the Captain of the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The 2013 RCGC International Charity Golf Tournament was a tremendous success providing the much needed neonatal equipment to the Women & Children’s Hospital on Castle Street with the generous support of many individuals, companies and foreign missions in Sri Lanka. Swing for Charity 2014, organised by Kreative Krib, will raise funds to provide education to the children of the less fortunate caddies and workers living in the periphery and neighbourhood of the RCGC Course. In addition, the Navodya Children Foundation in Mount Lavinia, home to over 30 disabled children has been identified to be the main beneficiary this year to provide much needed facilities to ease the pain of the unfortunate children. Sponsors and well-wishers are allured to reach-out and participate in this charitable venture by obtaining Platinum, Gold, Bronze and other opportunities to partner the 200 plus Golfers who will Swing for Charity on 13 September. Sponsors of the initiative include Das Auto, CASA Colombo and The Kingsbury.
