Former president of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) Suresh Subramanium has been re-elected as the Secretary General of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) at the meeting for elections held recently.
Subramanium who was president of SLTA for five consecutive years was elected as Secretary General of ATF for the fourth term and has now completed almost 10 years. He has been instrumental in obtaining ITF junior tennis tournaments to Sri Lanka. This gave many Sri Lanka players an opportunity to be exposed in international tournaments.
Subramanium has also been elected as chairman of Tournament and Matches Committee in ATF for the first time. He said that he was contemplating in starting an Asian Circuit for players in the region especially for junior players.
He said that Sri Lanka’s under-14 players are already thriving by participating in these tournaments held in Asia. (TBR)
