Star-studded opening ceremony launches IPL

Chennai: Bollywood legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan aka Big B set the stage on fire at YMCA Ground, Chennai, on Tuesday evening, when he recited a Hindi poem in his heavenly voice, penned by Prasoon Joshi.

With this he set the ball rolling for the opening ceremony of the extraordinary cricket extravaganza IPL 5.

Following this, Colonial Cousins (Hariharan and Leslie Lewis) mesmerised audience by Indo-Western singing stage-presentation.

To add cherry on the cake, bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra sizzled the audience by her performance on a song from the remake of hindi movie ‘Don’, Dhan te na song from hindi movie ‘Kaminey’ and many more.

To make the show even bigger, dancing superstar and Chennai’s very own Prabhu Deva rocked the YMCA  Ground with his breathtaking moves on famous ‘Muqabla Muqabla’, ‘Jalwa’ and other chartbusters.

Entire YMCA ground was full of applauds when Indian skipper MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings’ brigade acted out some cool dance moves with Priyanka Chopra on Tamil chartbuster ‘Nakka Mukka’.

Bollywood damsel Kareena Kapoor in her dazzling outfit left audience completely stunned by her sizzling performance on some of the biggest hits, ‘Chammak Challo’ from RA.One, ‘Pungi’ from Agent Vinod and many more.  The glittering ceremony attained its peak when Bollywood’s macho man Salman Khan enthralled the audience by his never seen dancing moves to take the high-octane cricket bonanza to the next level.
