St. Benedict’s College – Champions at Colombo Zonal meet 2015

The championship team along with Rev. Bro. Janaka Fonseka – Director, Rev. Bro. Praveen De Vaz – Sports Coordinator, M.I.C/Junior Coach Nuwan Abeywickrama, Coach I.D. Premasiri and Athletic Team Captain

For the first time in the recent past, St. Benedict’s College were crowned Champions at Colombo Zonal Athletic Meet 2015, held recently at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

St. Benedict’s College obtained 155 points to win the championship ahead of Royal College who emerged runners-up with 84 points. Ananda College finished 3rd place with 62 points, St. Joseph’s college - 4th places with 60 Points, Nalanda College - 5th Place with 49 Points and St. Peter’s college - 6th places with 48 Points.

St. Benedict’s College also won the overall Relay Championship and Shalika Santhush won the award for the Champion Athlete in the U-15 age group. The athletes are trained under the watchful eyes of M.I.C/Junior Coach Nuwan Abeywickrama and Coach I.D. Premasiri.
