Two brothers, Jaden and Aaron Gunawardana showed that age does not matter when it comes to talent when they showed some of best riding skills at the fourth episode of the speed racing Series 2011 which concluded at the Pannala Race Track last week.
Jaden was the toughest local competitor to best in both of the Motor cycle group O standard up to 125cc events which was won by the Indian champion Kumar Jegan. Jaden’s brother Aaron finished third in the first race but Jegan’s Indian team-mate Karthik Purushothaman secured the third slot in the second race.
Darsha Pathirana and Gayan Ranathunga secured the victories of two Formula McLarens 1300cc events respectively while the popular driver Ashan Silva sat behind the steering wheel of a Formula Ford 1600cc car and won the race.
Darin Weerasinghe drove a new Subaru STI10 and secured clear victory, lapping few drivers, extending a magnificent lead over second placed Kapila Nishantha and Nigel Perera who drove Mitsubishi Evos.
The event, which is the fourth and final round of the championship, was jointly organized by the Ceylon Motor Sports Club, Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club, Motor Racing Association and Asian Motor Racing Club.
