Sponsored by two entities, Kukkiwon known as the World Taekwondo Headquarters and the World Taekwondo Peace Corps, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea donated Taekwondo equipment in a ceremony held on Wednesday, 6 April, at the Embassy premises.
At the ceremony, Taekwondo equipment including electronic body protector sets, body protectors and mats, worth Rs. 5 million, was handed over to the Sri Lanka Taekwondo Federation to help promote Taekwondo in Sri Lanka and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of sports.
The ceremony took place with the participation of Chang Won-sam, Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Minister of Sports, Harshana Rajakaruna, President of the Sri Lanka Taekwondo Federation and the Federation’s representatives.
