Softlogic Finance Golf Medal winners announced

The Royal Colombo Golf Club was enlivened with competition as the RCGC May Monthly Medal teed off in style on the 28th of May, sponsored by Softlogic Finance. The RCGC announced the results for each of the tournament’s five categories of play as follows.

Division A, categorized by a handicap of 0 to 09, was won by Mr. D. R. Evans whose scored a 65 with Mr. Damindra Fernando coming in second with scoring 69. With a handicap of 10 to 18, Division B was won by Mr. Kris Krishnarajah who scored a 64 with Mr. Rohan J. Perera coming a very close second with 65. Scoring 69, Mr. Roshan Goonethilake was declared the winner of Division C, categorized by a handicap of 19 to 28, with Mr. Upul De Silva right behind him with 70.

In the senior category, Mr. A. M. Jayawardena took home the winning medal scoring 68 with Mr. M. A. S. Dias coming in second with 70. The highly-anticipated Masters category saw quite a battle for the top title which was eventually won by Mr. Yoshino Takashi scoring a 68. The Masters runner-up was Mr. A. S. Abdeen who scored a 71.

The Monthly Medal tournaments have been a longstanding tradition for the 130 year-old RCGC, the second oldest Royal Golf Club outside the United Kingdom. This year’s May Monthly Medal, the celebrated club partnered for the first time with Softlogic Finance a part of the Softlogic Group, one of Sri Lanka’s most diversified and fastest-growing conglomerates.
