Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) recently said that upon receiving several communications from the Maha Sangha regarding Sri Lankan cricketers’ representation in the Indian Premier League (IPL), SLC President Upali Dharmadasa has responded to the concerns expressed.
Dharmadasa has given full details of the discussions that took place with the Board of Control for Cricket in India and all other matters with regard to the IPL 2013.
It was also mentioned that certain players had signed their contracts a few years back and the new contracts were signed in the beginning of this year.
In his letter, Dharmadasa also outlined the discussions that SLC had with the Ministry of Sports together with the Ministry of External Affairs, pertaining to player safety. It was highlighted that the players were informed not to travel to Tamil Nadu for their matches by the respective Ministries.
