The on-going Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) has got its first sour taste of corruption, according to a statement issued yesterday by the Sri Lanka Cricket.
SLC said on Thursday 9th August 2012 Sri Lanka Cricket was made aware of an allegation of alleged corruption which centred on a taped conversation.
A copy of this taped conversation had been given to a Sri Lankan newspaper.
The tape was handed over to an official of the ICC Anti Corruption and Security unit currently in the country, covering SLPL. Investigations are underway in coordination with the ICC, SLC’s statement added.
