Sri Lanka ended the Youth Commonwealth Rugby Sevens 2017 at the number 5 position yesterday in the Bahamas, when they beat the hosts 46/5.
At the short breather, Sri Lanka led 26/0 and went on to score another 17 points before conceding one try for the hosts.
Earlier in round one, Sri Lanka lost to Canada 19/15, Fiji 14/7, Samoa 36/14, England 32/5 and beat the Bahamas 76/0. The outfit was led by Joes’ player Gemunu Cheethiya and coached by Peter Woods.
Fiji beat Canada 28/14 to win the Bronze medal while the Gold medal game was won by Samoa who beat the much fancied England 10/5.
