Following his departure from Police SC, Sri Lanka flanker Sharo Fernando will return to the Havelocks Sports Club where he started his club rugby career.
Fernando played for St. Peter’s from 2005-2007, a period in which they emerged League and President Trophy champions. After leaving school he represented Havies, CR&FC and Up Country Lions SC before settling in Police SC. In the Carlton Sevens he played for the Central Kings, which emerged champions in 2011.
Fernando was selected for the Junior Rugby Asiad which took place in South Korea in 2008. That year the Sri Lanka youth outfit finished third under his school coach Sanath Martis. At the senior level Fernando has toured China, Dubai, the Philippines, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
He got selected for the International Rugby Training program which took place in Hong Kong in 2012.
