Tournament dark horses Science College Mount Lavinia have asked for a neutral venue for their semi-final encounter against Royal College on 4 July.
Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SSRFA) Secretary Susantha Mendis, speaking to Daily FT, said: “We had the meeting before the commencement of the President Trophy encounter. Both the Principal and Master-in-Charge were present at the meeting. They did not object to the venue as all the games were to be played at the Royal Sports Complex. We will not allow any changes at this point.”
Science College Rugby Chairman Jayamini Alwis said: “We sent our first letter of objection last Wednesday and the second letter was sent through the Principal today asking for a neutral venue for our semi-final game against Royal. We await a favourable response. We have come to know that they will host the final at a neutral venue. Why only the final at a neutral venue? We will make our final decision based on the SSRFA reply.”
