Sangamitta Matale and Seethadevi emerge joint hockey champs

Sangamitta Matale and Seethadevi Kandy were announced joint hockey champions at the 21st All-Island Girls’ Schools Super Sevens Hockey Tournament, which was organised by Seethadevi Balika Vidyalaya at the Bogambara Stadium.

Due to heavy rain in the area the finals did not take place. There was also poor light and risk from nearby flashes of lightning.

Thamali Dissanayake (Seethadevi) was named the Best Player of the tournament. Nethmini Kodituwakku was recognised as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
