Ritzbury, the leading chocolate brand of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (CBL), has stepped forward for the fourth consecutive time to sponsor Sir John Tarbet School Athletic Championship organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association (SLSAA). The senior championship is being held from 17 to 19 June at Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Biyagama with over 3,000 athletes participating in the senior championship.
“Being part of the country’s oldest school athletics championship for the fourth consecutive year has given us the opportunity to extend our support to young athletes around the country. Ritzbury is glad to be continuously associated with such a prestigious event and will continue to support Sri Lanka’s youth athletes through successful partnerships with the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association and other sporting bodies in the country,” said Theja Peiris, Group General Manager Marketing of CBL.
“Sir John Tarbet Athletic Championship is an opportunity for many budding school athletes to showcase their talents at the national level. Ritzbury has contributed towards the improvement of various sports and we do this to encourage and provide opportunities to our athletes to reach their full potential while keeping in line with our CSR initiatives,” said Nilupul De Silva, Marketing Manager of CBL.
Ritzbury launched www.ritzburyjohntarbet.lk website last year as an initiative to communicate the records set at previous meets and the key highlights. This year also the website will carry the latest updates of the upcoming meet and feature the winners, giving access to the public with the needed information.
“Ritzbury as a brand has been supporting Sir John Tarbet School Athletic Championship during the past three years and this year also they have come forward to support this national level event. Uplifting school athletics is one the key priorities of Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association and initiatives of this nature cannot be fulfilled without the support of conglomerates like CBL who carries many brands under its belt. We wish to continue this partnership and elevate national level athletics to support all Sri Lankan school athletes,” said N.A.D.R. Hemantha, President of Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association (SLSAA).
