The Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Society (SLRSS) invited two veteran referees, Ed Turnil and Stephen Bills from England, to conduct a workshop at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium a few days ago with the participation of 15 referees from the Central Province.
The 10-day tour by the British referees consisted sessions in Kandy and Colombo. Turnil is a referee educator, trainer and developer in the English Rugby Union (ERU) while Bills is a Regional Manager of the London Society of Rugby Football Union Referees. Both have ample experience in analysing the referees’ performances. This program will develop the local referees according to an agreement signed by the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU).
