Ratnayake Central, Walala claimed the boys’ and girls’ overall athletic titles of the Central Province Schools Games which concluded at the Bogambara Stadium last weekend.
Ratnayake Central won the girls’ title for the 25th consecutive year while the boys won the championship for the 20th occasion, showing their class in track and field events. Ratnayake Central aggregated 253 points to beat Trinity (187 points) to the second place in the boys’ category. St. Sylvester’s were placed third with 91 points.
The girls from Ratnayake Central scored 396 points to secure the title with Ambagamuwa Central, Hatton finishing second with 106 points and Swarnamali Balika Kandy scoring 98 points to finish third.
