Randev wins ‘Gold’ at South Asian Karate C’ships

South Asian karate Gold Medallion - Sri Lanka’s Randev Athukorala with team coach Shihan Nanda Siriwardena and President of the Sri Lanka Karate Do Federation Sensei Sisira 

 

Sri Lanka’s cadet captain for the South Asian Karate Championships Randev Athukorala won the ‘Gold Medal’ for the country in New Delhi, India. Athukorala fighting in the under 15 Kumitae 70+ kg category now qualifies for the Asian Karate Championships to be staged in Indonesia later this year. 

Preterite, Randev N. A.  Athukorala is a double medallion in the World karate Championships staged in Iran in last year and  Silver medallion at the coveted Milo Malaysian Karate Championship and Asia Cup Championship.

Young Athukorala is a 4th year member of the school karate team and a medallion in the Kata and Kumitae category at the Nepal Karate Championships whilst also being a school colours men and Best Performance winner at the St Peters College Colours Night. He is trained by national champ Sensei DM Nimal and assisted by Sensei Safraz whilst his Manager is his father, Black Belt karateka Dr Rohantha Athukorala.
