There is a buzz in the golfing community about the newest addition to the junior golfer’s calendar this year.
On 14 August, NDB Private Wealth Management will tee off its inaugural Junior Masters golfing tournament at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, providing Sri Lanka’s young golfing community with a platform to exercise their competitive spirit and display their skill in the world of golf.
“Playing competitive golf requires similar thinking to business and financial management. There are elements of planning, dedication, foresight, calculation and driving ambition. Which is why it’s great to see the younger generation cultivating these qualities early in life through competitive golf,” according to the NDB Wealth Management CEO Prabodha Samarasekera.
The tournament is divided into three categories, which are the Gold Division for Under 18, the Silver Division for Under 15 and the Bronze Division for Under 11. Winners of each division will be awarded an NDB Wealth Account worth Rs. 100,000 and the runners-up in each division will receive an NDB Wealth Account worth Rs. 50,000.
However, everyone will walk home a winner because all participants will receive a NDB Wealth Account of their own worth Rs. 5,000 as well a complimentary gift bag filled with branded golf goodies.
“This is a first for NDB Private Wealth Management and probably the beginning of something new and exciting in the world of junior golf. It is also a great way for both young players and their parents to connect with the brand NDB Private Wealth Management for a better understanding of the financial planning services we offer for the whole family,” added CEO Prabodha Samarasekera.
Pro Golf Ltd. Managing Director Chandana Weerasinghe is spearheading the promotion of NDB Wealth’s PWM Junior Masters and had this to say: “It’s wonderful to see NDB Wealth’s commitment to supporting and building Junior Golf in Sri Lanka which will further help develop players of an international level in future. This sort of assistance is welcome and we look forward to more support from the corporate sector to help build the game.”
Entries are now open and will continue to be open until 11 August, giving a lot of young hopefuls the chance to display the best of their game.
