Western Province North Under 15 Cricket Team emerged as Prima Champions Cup Under 15 Inter Provincial Champions when they beat Southern Province Team by 2 wickets in a closely contested match played at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium yesterday. Southern Province batting first managed to score 203 runs in their 50 overs. Kamindu Mendis lead the way with the bat, scoring a classical 86 runs while Chathura Milan scored 42 valuable runs. Niduka Welikala took four wickets and his opening bowling partner Jehan Daniel took two scalps. Chasing a total of 204, Western Province North Team had to face a disciplined bowling attack from Southern Province. Jehan Daniel continued his good form batting at number three scoring a brisk 32 runs while Eranga Jayasing he stayed till the end to take his team over the line scoring an unbeaten 35 runs. Kavindu Munasinghe contributed with 26 runs. Raveen Yasas was the pick of the bowlers taking three crucial wickets. Western Province North reached the target in the 43rd over losing eight wickets during the chase.
