President bats for maximum support for improvement of cricket

Sri Lanka cricket team members and a few board members of Sri Lanka Cricket held a meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s residence in Colombo on Sunday.

After having a friendly conversation with everyone, the President promised that he would offer all his support for the improvement of cricket.

On this occasion, Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara and Sri Lanka Cricket President Thilanga Sumathipala spoke about the victories that have been achieved by the Sri Lankan cricket team during the past two years.

They expressed their appreciation of the support given by President Sirisena to improve Sri Lankan cricket.

A banquet was hosted by the President for the team and the board members and he posed for a group photograph with the victorious cricketers of 2016 and 2017.

Asian Cricket Council President Shaharyar M. Khan, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan and BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury as well as many senior cricket players and their families were present at the occasion.
