Power Horn launches racing team

Mansoor & Sons Enterprises, the official distributors of Power Horn energy drink in Sri Lanka, announced the launch of the Power Horn Racing branded team on Wednesday.

Power Horn is a Polish energy drink launched in 2010, and is currently available in Asia, Africa, the Far East and the Gulf countries. The team was created in cooperation with WEPR Raptor Performance, Choco Luv, N Motor Sports, Delicious, Cantaloupe Aqua and The Z World.

The nine member team, headed by Nigel Perera, will compete in a range of car and bike classes. The team includes Perera, Hafiz Cader, Ishraq Wahab, Thiwanka Wijayasekara, Dharsha Pathirana, Ned Daniel, Prasanna Rajakulendran, Andrew Choksy and Zakir Wahab. The team’s vehicles include an open wheel Formula Mclaren, a super bike, a Mini Cooper, a Honda Civic, Honda Accord, and a Subaru WRX.

Addressing the press conference, Perera said: “It is refreshing to finally have a corporate interested in sponsoring a team of racers. Most racers are in it, for the passion they have for the sport. So much so, that they go to the extent of emptying their pockets, simply to pursue their love for the sport, however motor sport in Sri Lanka is now on the path of development. It is in the process of building a strong infrastructure, there can be no better time for the promotion of any brand. Power Horn energy drink has taken a strong step to come on board and sponsor us for this year, we are not only appreciative to them but also promise you some fabulous racing.”

The team’s first event will be this weekend’s Kandy Night Race.
