PM assures boost for Hambantota International Cricket Stadium

Sri Lanka Cricket said yesterday that Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe visited the Hambantota Mahinda Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium recently.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by President of Sri Lanka Cricket Thilanga Sumathipla. 

Ministers and MPs from Southern Province Sajith Premadasa together with Sagala Ratnayake too accompanied the Prime Minister on this tour.

After a brief tour of the stadium, the Prime Minister and President of SLC together with officials of SLC had discussions as to how to sustain and maximise the utilisation of the stadium in the future.  

At this discussion the Prime Minister agreed to assist Sri Lanka Cricket with hotel facilities in the vicinity of the stadium for the benefit and convenience of the visiting teams.
