Pan Asia Bank beats Standard Chartered Bank by 5 wickets

In a first round game of Mercantile ‘C’ division cricket tournament held on 16 January, Pan Asia Bank convincingly defeated Standard Chartered Bank at the MCA grounds.

 Batting first Standard Chartered were all out for 220 runs during 48.4 overs. Chamika Sansaka of Pan Asia Bank picked up three wickets for 45 runs while Gayan Pradeep picked up 2 for 24.

 In response the Standard Chartered Bank’s score, Pan Asia Bank team managed to reach the winning target within 42.1 overs with 5 wickets to spare. Key contributors to the 226 runs of Pan Asia Bank were Kanishka Prashan (62), Thusith Silva (47), Chamika Sansaka (45), Lahiru Wickramasinghe (39).

 With this win Pan Asia Bank continues its unbeaten record in this season winning both games they have played. In the first match they played on 3rd of January against People’s Leasing Company, PLC was all out for just 72 runs against Pan Asia Bank’s score of 230 runs.
