The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Major General Syed Shakeel Hussain, hosted a banquet in Colombo to welcome the Pakistani cricket team, which is touring the island to play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20s against their Sri Lankan counterparts.
Welcoming the cricketers to Sri Lanka, Hussain said that the Pakistani team was well-known to Lankan cricket fans. He also felicitated the team for their outstanding victory in the first Test match in Galle. The High Commissioner expressed hope that the team would continue its winning ways through the remaining matches.
Team Manager Naveed Akram Cheema said that the players and team management were pleased to be present at the event. He added that the players were determined to do well in the games ahead.
The Pakistani Test cricket squad, team management, coaches and senior officers of the Pakistan High Commission attended the reception.
