North Western Blacks, led by Chanaka Chandimal, beat Southern Sharks by 41-7 to win the first leg of Carlton Super Sevens held at Kandy, on Sunday. North Western Blacks beat Uva Vipers by 24-19 to reach semi-finals. Another New Zealander, Ed Cocker led Southern Sharks to an easy 36-10 win against Sabaragamuwa Stallions to win a place in the semi-final round.
Jaffna Challengers, who were unbeaten on Saturday after four matches, were defeated by Southern Sharks on Sunday.
