Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella has been reprimanded for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during his side’s 109 runs victory over Ireland in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012 in Brisbane on Wednesday.
Dickwella was found to have breached clause 2.1.1 of the code which relates to “breach of the ICC’s Clothing and Equipment Regulations during an International Match”. The player exceeded the permitted number of manufacturers’ logos on his wicketkeeping gloves when he took the field in the afternoon.
Dickwella accepted the Level 1 charge and accepted the sanction proposed by David Boon of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.
The charge against Dickwella was brought by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Ian Ramage, and third umpire Sarika Prasad.
