Former Thomian and Havelocks SC player Sudharshan Muthuthanthri will lead the Sri Lanka Sevens outfit for their first leg of the Asian Sevens series in China on 5 and 6 September. This will be the first major task for the sevens outfit who will be under the watchful eyes of England Coach Matthew Turner. Sri Lanka will miss the services of Fazil Marija who is out with an injury which will keep him away for two weeks. Fazil will be ready for the second leg in Thailand at the end of this month. The last leg will take place in Colombo at the Race Course rugby grounds.
The majority of the players are from the double champions Kandy SC and Havies outfits. Sri Lanka will feature along with Singapore and Kazakhstan at the group stages on the initial day.
