Mobitel offers Twitter without data charges for a unique cricket experience

Mobitel has partnered with Twitter, one of the largest social networking sites in the world, to give its valued customers the opportunity to use Twitter for free for the duration of the ongoing Cricket World Cup. The partnership will provide customers with the most comprehensive platform to follow the excitement and action of the world tournament, one tweet at a time. Mobitel customers will receive access to the popular social media platform by visiting twitter.com for the duration of the event without incurring any data charges. A unique aspect of the service, which will be available until the end March, is that customers who do not possess a Twitter account can also experience the Cricket Timeline which includes scores and commentary by directly accessing twitter.com/i/cricket. Users can access Twitter’s newly announced cricket updates by searching for the appropriate hashtag on the current tournament on the Twitter app on Android or iOS and twitter.com/i/cricket via mobile web. Customers can also access this special feature timeline by accessing individual match hashtags like #SLvAFG or #NZvENG. On the Twitter timeline, users can engage with players, commentators and celebrities, watch exclusive pictures and videos and stay updated on all the latest scores with data free of charge. Customers will also be able to follow their favourite accounts without any data charges to get updates from Mobitel @MobitelSriLanka. Furthermore, updates from legends such as Viv Richards @vivrichards56, Shane Warne @ShaneWarne, Mahela Jayawardena @MahelaJay and Angelo Mathews @Angelo69Mathews also could be accessed.
