100th Sri Lanka Nationals Tennis Championships 2015

Medhira Samarasinghe was conformed the Airtel Player of the Tournament Trophy in the Women’s Category at the 100th Sri Lanka Nationals Tennis Championships 2015 worked out at the SLTA hard courts in Greenpath.

Medhira ended up with a double on the final day when she paired Sankha Attukorala to comfortably win the open mixed doubles 2-0 (6/2, 6/1) against Heera Ashiq and Roshenka Fernando. This followed the Women’s Doubles 2-0 (6/3, 6/1) win partnering Amritha Muttaih against Nethmi Waduge and Rukshika Wijesuriya.

Earlier in the Junior Nationals Medhira emerged winner in the Girls Under 16 age category easily beating Anika Seneviratne 2-0 (6/1, 6/1) in straight sets.

Medhira, a product of Ladies College, Colombo, and coached by Shalini de Silva also won the Airtel Player of the Tournament Trophy in 2014. She was a member of the Sri Lanka Team that participated in the Fed Cup 2015 in India and 2014 in Kazakhstan.
