Lankem Ceylon thrashed Amana Bank, scoring 332/4 in 30 overs, inclusive of 22 sixes and 26 fours and registered a 196-run win in the 14th David Pieris Group of Companies-sponsored, “DPGC” Challenge Trophy, MCA “E” Division 30 Over League Tournament 2016, which commenced last weekend.
In the process, Lankem produced the first centurion of the tournament – Lisula Weerasekera (131 in 80 balls, inclusive of nine sixes and 14 fours).
There were 25 half centurions and the front runners were – Pathum Madusanka from UB Finance (89 vs. DFCC Bank), Chamod Wickramasinghe from DFCC Bank (72 vs. UB Finance), Shalinda Perera from MAS Active “B” (83 vs. Treleborg Lanka), Tharuka Nilakshana from Dialog “B” (80 vs. Bimputh Finance), Omila Rajapaksa from Assetline (79 vs. Astron Lanka), Mahesh Francis from Astron Lanka (74 vs. Assetline), Aravinda Kumara from Brandix (88 vs. Softlogic Finance), Neluka de Silva from Finlays Colombo (70 not out vs. CTC) and L. Lakshan from Mercantile Investments (72 vs. Noyon Lanka).
