skysports.com: Veteran Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene was one of the 267 passengers on board the Sri Lankan Airlines flight that was forced to make an emergency landing at Stansted Airport in London due to a security threat on Saturday. Jayawardene was travelling to England for the Test Captains’ dinner, which will be held at Lord’s on Tuesday. Jayawardene will be joined by fellow former Sri Lanka captains Arjuna Ranatunga, Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara at the star-studded event. “Thanks all for concern. What an experience! Due to security threat got diverted to Stansted. Credit to local police,” tweeted Jayawardene. “36 hours later, still no bags. SriLankan Airlines’ UK staff handling of situation was sadly appalling.”
