Lyceum Wattala emerge U-19 girls basketball champs

Lyceum International School Wattala marched to victory in the International Schools Under 19 Girls Basketball Tournament, organised by the British School in Colombo recently. 

The Lyceum International School Wattala girls’ team led by Mandhari Fernando played against Lyceum International School Panadura, Colombo International School Colombo and Gateway College Colombo in their first round matches. Lyceum Wattala then beat British School in the semi-finals before playing Lyceum International School, Nugegoda in the finals.

In that showdown, Lyceum Wattala outscored their counterparts from Nugegoda 64-47 to emerge victorious.

The awards for Best Defensive Player and Most Valuable Player were won by Lubna Morseth and Hazeena Abdul respectively.
