The Luxe Asia sponsored 32nd Travel Trade Sports Club Swimming Championships will be held on Sunday, 22 January at the Thurstan College pool from 9.30 a.m. onwards.
The meet was earlier scheduled to be held on 3 December 2016 at the same venue but had to be postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
The competition will be governed by the technical rules of Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU).
The meet will be conducted under two categories for men and women namely Novices and Championship under the following age groups.
Novices: 18 to 29, 30 to 39 and 40&Over.
Championships: 18 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39 and 40&above.
Entries are invited from the TTSC membership and will close on Wednesday, 18 January at 3.00 p.m. with Stephani Fernando/ Ridma Withanage, C/o Walkers Tours, Sir Chittampalam Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 2.
SriLankan Airlines are past winners of the team championship title but will face stiff competition from Cinnamon City Hotels Walkers/Whittalls and Club Bentota.
This will be the penultimate event in the multi-sports TTSC 2016 calendar, with carom, archery, bowling, the Soccer ‘Sevens’, badminton, the Softball Cricket ‘Sixes’, pool, the Hardball Cricket ‘Sixes’ and beach tag rugby having been completed. The final event, the beach volleyball tournament, will be held on 11 February in Aluthgama.
