Last weekend at Waters Edge a selected group of children from Colombo completed their Junior Propstar Training Course under the guidance of the Lanka Powerboat Association (LPA) trainers.
The children worked extremely hard to attain their Junior Propstar Competition Certificate. The program included classroom work, children’s presentations, race practice and on water tuition.
The two-day event concluded with the children competing against each other in the first ever Junior Propstar Race and thrilling time trial.
Taryn Martenstyn won the event ahead of second placed Jared Martenstyn while joint third place went to Lara Gunerwardena and Shyamal Perera.
The organisers of the event thanked the parents and trainers for making the event a great success.
The next event organised by the Lanka Powerboat Association will be held from 28-30 October and will be open to all children who are interested in taking part.
