Former Kingswoodians, Kandy SC three quarters, Sri Lanka fifteens and Sevens players Fazil Marija and Lavanga Perera both will be out of action for the defending champions in the second round league rugby tournament.
Skipper Fazil Marija who had an early injury early where he was suffering from a Slip Disc, got in to worst situation against their second round game against the Air Force in Ratmalana three weeks ago. Kandy who suffered further injuries when they locked horns with Police last week their star winger Lavange Perera was carried off the field due to a broken ankle which was operated succesfully but will be out of action for at least another four weeks. Second rower Gayan Ratanyake too suffered with an injury but he will be available for their game against CR&FC on 14 February at Nittawela after missing out against the Solders this weekend. Though these injuries took place Kandy are fortunate they have ample replacements on the bench with players such as Dhanushka Dyan, Thisila Karunathilke and Arshard Jamaldeen and Srinarth Sooriyabandara getting their exposure in the last few games for the club.
