LAUGFS Holdings powers Ananda Cricket

Ananda 1st XI Cricket for the season 2014/2015 will be sponsored and supported by LAUGFS Holdings PLC. Addressing a press conference on 2 December, Ananda College Cricket Wing President Saliya Senanayake thanked the sponsors and said this would help Ananda Cricket to continue with its outstanding contribution towards Sri Lanka Cricket and contributions of this nature is required to sustain and improve cricket at school levels.

Ananda College Deputy Principal Wedage thanked LAUGFS Holdings PLC Group Managing Director Thilak De Silva for his contribution as an old boy towards Ananda and Ananda Cricket. De Silva said that he was delighted to contribute and to be associated once again with Ananda College and urged all old boys to partner their Alma Mater in their endeavours to improve and develop cricket from grass root level at Ananda College. The 2013/2014 season showed Ananda College making significant strides towards the past glories that is associated with the school which has produced many top teams and outstanding cricketers. The 1st XI Team finished third in the League Table and was the top tem from the Western Province; Champions in the Murali Harmony Cup 2014; Under 17 losing Semi-Finalist in the Division 1 Tournament; and Under 15 A and B Teams were Champions in the 1st and 2nd Division. All these tournaments were conducted by the Schools Cricket Association through Sri Lanka Cricket. The above success can be contributed to the active support and participation of the past cricketers through the Ananda College Cricket Wing (ACCW).
