Land Rover sponsors Central Kings at Carlton Rugby 7s

In keeping with its global affiliation with Rugby, Land Rover sponsored the Central Kings team in the Carlton rugby 7s Tournament 2013. The tournament features many local and international rugby stars, while the Central Kings include Bett Thompson and Colin Hawley from USA, Rocky Khan and Joshua York from  New Zealand and Ignacio Martin from Spain. The Central Kings are captained by Saliya Handapahangoda and Nigel Ratwatte. “Land Rover’s affiliation and penchant for sport and adventure are legendary and here in Sri Lanka too we do our best to promote sport and adventure,” said SML Frontier Automotive Managing Director Sheran Fernando. In recent times, Land Rover has been increasingly involved with local rugby which has always been a popular sport in the country both at School as well as at Club level. “Here in Sri Lanka we hope to become more involved not just with rugby but with sport and motor racing as a whole. Adventure, innovation and discovery are synonymous with the Land Rover brand as well as its users and we will do our best to inculcate this spirit in Sri Lanka as well,” said Fernando Land Rover has a well-established relationship with rugby and as well as supporting Rugby World Cup 2015 in England, the company also partner the British and Irish Lions Tour to Australia 2013, Premiership Rugby in England, Top 14 Orange in France as well as the 2012 Shanghai Sevens and Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens in 2012
