The Classic Car Club of Ceylon and Land Rover bring you the ‘British Car Day’. This truly unique event will showcase British cars and motorbikes from the 1930s all the way up through the years. It will give the public an opportunity to feast their eyes on some spectacular cars. Iconic brands such as Aston Martin, Lotus, MG, Triumph, Rolls Royce, Austin, Morris, Ford and many more will be on display. Thankfully, there is a community of classic car enthusiasts that work tirelessly to restore and preserve their cars, that are now considered works of art, in an effort to showcase and pay tribute to these British masterpieces. The owners of these cars will also be attired in period outfits, adding to the authenticity of the event and bringing a touch of humor. The British Car Day is organised by the Classic Car Club of Ceylon with the support of event sponsor SML Frontier Automotive Ltd., sole agents for Land Rover in Sri Lanka. The term ‘Quintessentially British’ comes to mind when referring to Land Rover. Widely regarded as the best off-road vehicle in existence, Land Rover continues to carry on the British tradition of excellence in automotive design. “Land Rover has a long standing relationship with the Classic Car Club of Ceylon,” said Sheran Fernando, Managing Director, SML Frontier Automotive. “Our sponsorship of the British car day is an opportunity for us to continue our support of classic cars, and at the same time showcase our vehicles in the right setting to a group of enthusiasts, who like Land Rover owners, have an affinity and love for their amazing automobiles.” An iconic event such as this deserves an iconic setting and what could be better than the glorious expanses          of th e Town Hall grounds. British Car Day will be on Sunday 16 March. A 65 car parade will begin from this amazing venue at 8 a.m. and make its way to The Kingsbury Hotel where the public will be able see them shine in all glory until 11:30 a.m.
