Kingswood College emerged Central Province champs by defeating Colombo International School (CIS) Kandy - who were last year’s national champions - in the Under-19 boys’ school basketball championship, organised by the Central Province’s Department of Education and worked off at the St. Anthony’s Convent court in Katugastota.
CIS’ scoring rate was no match for the attack of the Kingswoodians, who romped to an easy 72-99 victory.
The top scorers for Kingswood were Hansaka Nilupul (21),Vidura Alwis(17) and Mayantha Weerawardana (17).
M. Salim (28), Hiran Karalliyadda (27) and M. Hamza (12) were the top scorers for CIS.
The Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament was Vidura Alwis of Kingswood College.Standing from left: M.I.C.
