Kandy SC leave to UAE for Asia Rugby Western Clubs Champions 2016

Unbeaten League and Clifford Cup champions, Kandy Sports Club will once again participate at the Asia Rugby Western Clubs Championship 2016 league rugby tournament when they leave the island today for the UAE.

Roshan Weeraratne will lead the outfit on tour as well as in the coming rugby season in 2016/2017. This will be the second time that the up country club will tour the UAE to participate in this event. Dubai Exiles, Abu Dhabi Harlequins and Kandy SC will lock horns in the round robin encounter.

Three Kandy players on tour in Hong Kong for the Asian Sevens series Dhanushka Ranjan, Jason Dissnayake and Danuska Dayan all three of them will join the squad in UAE in two days for their first game on 6 September. 

Fazil Marija, Nigel Ratwatte, Shehan Pathirane Anurudda Wilwara and Gayan Weerarathne all will be missed due to their injuries.
