Kandy SC AGM on Sunday

Former Trinity second rower UdayaBalasuriyawill take over as President at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Kandy Sports Club which will take place on 28 June at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium auditorium. Proceedings will commence at 10 a.m.

Kandy SC who are the defending League and Clifford Cup knock out champions will be led by national sevens and fifteens skipper FazilMarija. They are expected to field some new comers for the interclub sevens, which will be worked off next month in Colombo.

Already a few players such as Sayuru Anthony, SrinarthSooriyabandara, Vishwamithra Jayasinghe and ShehanPathirana have shown interest in joining the Kandy Club who will field two teams at the sevens.

The champion outfit will be once again coached by the South African Johan Taylor who successfully took Sri Lanka to the Division I championship win for the second time.

He will be in Kandy by August this year with coaching assistance coming from former kicking sensation NalakaWeerakody and Sean Wijesinghe who led the side in the last season.
