Joes win U19 ‘A’ Division Colombo North Zone Basketball Championship

St. Joseph’s College emerged Champions at the Colombo North Zone under 19 ‘A’ Division Basketball Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball Association at Darley Road Courts last weekend.

The Josephians beat Colombo International School Colombo 64-59 at a closely contested final. Prasanga Wettasinghe the Captain of St. Joseph’s College was adjudged the most valuable player along with Nathosh Wijendran being adjudged the Best Defensive player. Onello Gilbert of Colombo International School was adjudged the Best Offensive Player. The Joes beat same opponents during the group stage along with Nalanda College. On their way to the Finals, the Josephians beat St. Benedict’s College Kotahena in the Quarter Finals followed by Ananda College Colombo in the Semi Finals.
