The revolutionary Steel Silencerz, one of India’s best stunt teams, together with six talented Sri Lankan stunt riders and the power-packed Bajaj Pulsar were the cynosure of all eyes when the ‘Derana-Pulsar Power Stunt Challenge 2015’ reached a crescendo at the grand finale. The event was worked off at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre premises on 11 July where Isuru Maduranga from Hokandara emerged the champion stunt rider.
Saturday’s grand finale saw six amazing local performers selected by the Steel Silencerz out of hundreds of young hopefuls who took part in the island-wide challenge over a period of one month. The six finalists of the Derana-Pulsar Power Stunt Challenge 2015 were Eranda Sampath (Mirigama), Sameera Piyadigama (Katugastota), Manoj Rakwana (Kurunegala), Isuru Maduranga (Hokandara), Tharindu Dinendra (Madapatha) and Akash Sagara (Udugampola).
Pulsar Power fans were given an opportunity to take their favourite stunt star to the top through SMS votes via any mobile network. Sameera Piyadigama was voted the most popular stunt rider in Sri Lanka. Champion Isuru Maduranga carried away a brand-new Pulsar 200 courtesy of David Pieris Motor Company Ltd, the people behind the Derana-Pulsar Power Stunt Challenge. Eranda Sampath, Tharindu Dinendra, Sameera Piyadigama and Akash Sagara were the first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively and were rewarded with cash prizes.
The champion stunt riders and the Indian Steel Silencerz entertained hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankan fans with their mesmerizing stunts on Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles at several locations throughout the island during the biggest stunt riding extravaganza in the country over the past few weeks.
The series of stunt shows, organised by David Pieris Motor Company Ltd., started off in Colombo, followed by performances in Puttalam, Kandy, Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Badulla, Ratnapura and Matara before returning to Colombo for the final showdown.
