Isipathana will be all out to continue their winning ways when they confront the Peterites in Bambalapitiya this Saturday. At present, defending champions Isipathana, Royal and Trinity have won all their three respective encounters in the Singer League Under-20 Division I rugby tournament.
Today, Isipathana will be hosted by the Peterites at Bambalapitiya. Though Isipathana were not up to good standards in their rugby in the last 20 minutes where they allowed the Antonians to come back within striking range. With their fast running three quarter line it will be a tough ask for the lads from Bambalapitiya to keep them under control. Zahira, the dark horses for the tournament, will hand off POW in their encounter at Maradana today.
On Sunday, Joes will confront the Rajans at CR. The Rajans lost both their games to Isipathana and Royal, but playing at home, the Joes should pull this off without much difficulty.
Royal will have an easy outing when they confront D.S. Senanayake at Welisara. With Ovin Askey and Shabith Feroze displaying high quality rugby for the Reid Avenue outfit it should be a one-sided affair at Welisara. The unbeaten Trinitians will travel down to Colombo for the fourth time this season when they confront the wounded Thomians. This encounter is played for the Canon de Seram trophy. The Thomians will expect a lot from their skipper Naveen Heenakankanmge to produce some magic. Trinity will be led by Nathan Yee and his deputy Anuk Boyagada. With Dange and Sheik playing at the top with some fast, open rugby, the lads from Kandy hold a slight edge over their brother school.
