Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot last week had the honor of hosting a press gathering with 10-Time World Champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather to announce their sponsorship of the future Hall of Famer for his match-up against Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas.
To mark the occasion, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe presented a King Power WBC Full Pavé with Emeralds to the undefeated champion, who will also wear the Hublot brand name on his boxing trunks on Saturday night. In line with Hublot’s “First, Different, Unique” brand ethos, Mayweather has previously never had a brand adorn his boxing shorts. The Presentation took place minutes before the boxer took the stage for the highly touted Weigh In.
“Everyone knows I am a big fan of luxury watches and Hublot is one of them,” said Mayweather. “I am extremely grateful for their support and I look forward to adding the King Power WBC Full Pavé with Emeralds to my collection.”
Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, shared: “We are proud to be a part of the World Boxing Council since we partnered with them in 2012. It is with honor and privilege that we stand beside Mayweather in what will be the biggest fight of his career. His astounding achievements through his perseverance and commitment to his celebrated career have made him a great fit for Hublot – we will lay witness to greatness tomor row.”
In addition to the presentation and sponsorship of Mayweather, and to celebrate this weekend’s much anticipated fight, Hublot is also hosting a one-of-a-kind boxing experience at the Hublot Boutique in Caesar’s Palace. In an official Hublot interactive ‘boxing ring’ and carpet, guests were invited to take a photo with Hublot-branded boxing props, including a robe, boxing gloves and championship belt.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather, undefeated in 47 fights, and having bestowed upon himself the acronym ‘TBE’ - ‘The Best Ever’ will square off with Manny Pacquiao on May 2 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas in what has been hailed the biggest event in the history of the sport. The 11- time world champion, who has not lost a fight since capturing his first world title in 1998, brings an unparalleled, tactical brilliance to the ring that sets him apart from the rest. Outside of the boxing world, Mayweather is a personal fan of Hublot and sits courtside at games of the Miami Heat—a longstanding Hublot partner.
Hublot’s legendary relationship with the World Boxing Council, the governing body of the global sport, began in 2012 when Hublot took the fervor and art of the sport and fused it with the passion and history of the watch world. This synergy resulted in the creation of 12 unique watches, dedicated and signed by twelve legendary boxers. These timepieces were auctioned and raised over $1 million for the charitable initiatives of the World Boxing Council, including the beginning of the retired boxer’s pension and emergency fund in over 40 countries around the world.
