HSBC will host its traditional 5-Club Stableford Golf Tournament at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) on 12 and 14 June. The popular tournament will begin with the Ladies and Senior’s teeing off in the afternoon on 12 June, while the Men’s A B & C divisions will tee off with a shot-gun start at 7:15 a.m. on 14 June.
The HSBC 5 Club Stableford Tournament reaching its twentieth year will be open to HSBC’s valued customers and to all members of the Royal Colombo Golf Club with a valid handicap. Registrations for entries will be open from 12 noon on 30 May until 6 June at the Club.
The tournament is expected to see a large contingent of golfers participating on both days, competing for the overall HSBC 5-Club Challenge Trophy which was previously won by Rohan Fernando with a score of 43 stablefordpoints.
The first Stableford Golf Tournament was sponsored by HSBC with a shot-gun start in 1994 and was subsequently changed to a 5-Club Tournament in 1998. “We are happy to be able to continue the tradition which started in 1994 that has remained a flagship event of HSBC for two decades. This has been an exciting event and we look forward to yet another enjoyable tournament in June with the participation of our customers along with other members of the Royal Colombo Golf Club. We hope all participants will get to enjoy and experience a fun filled day of golf,” said Patrick Gallagher, CEO of HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives. The tournament will conclude with an awards ceremony at 1.15 p.m. held at the RCGC Club House, followed by a traditional fellowship lunch for all participants on 14 June.
